Aereogramme start their Chemikal Underground career with 'Fuel to Burn' sounding like a contest between Godspeed and Ligament it's the perfect introduction to what become the perfect EP.
The band aren't just about riotous noise as they show on the next two numbers 'The Ocean Red' and 'Fireworks'. Both are proof that Craig B is probably one of the most talented songwriters in the UK. If 'Fireworks' doesn't have you on the verge of crying there's something very wrong with you. His wobbly vocals are backed up by minimalist music with his acoustic guitar being the only instrument for the first minute, later on freestyle and programmed beats are added.
Gabriel's 13th dream remix of 'Fireworks' was described by Craig B as being "an incredible remix" and "not some shitty add-on" and he wasn't lying. It's a completely new song, treading the electronica path with the likes of Tarwater or Magnétophone.drownedinsound.com

This Scottish outfit has a truly unusual take on rock. Their music is an unlikely combination of corrosive metal, quietly sensitive indie rock, and sound-for-sound's-sake ambience. Aereogramme seems to thrive on extreme contrasts: quiet vs. wall-of-sound assault, big-as-day riffing vs. haunting sonic atmospherics, soft vocals vs. harsh screaming. The group likes to suddenly shift from sections featuring fierce guitar shredding and punishing drumming to passages with thoughtful acoustic piano, gently pleading vocals, and nuanced brushwork; or they let solid songs dissolve into soundscapes composed of moody drones, blips, and artfully deployed shards of feedback. Aereogramme's striking textures can dazzle and their transitions can be genuinely jolting. At times, however, the album feels artily abstruse, a remote work to be appreciated from a distance. But A Story in White is a distinctive and impressive album. --Fred Cisterna

This album will leave you stunned. So many aspects and different forms are given. Monumental and Epic, to Brutal bombastic white noise. It is absolutely unbelievable to hear. No other band has crafted such lush arrangements and molded them together with such precisionamazon.com

Aereogramme is a criminally underrated band from Scotland who certainly doesn't know what going with the flow means. Just try to listen to their 2 previous albums, and you'll understand what I mean. Just when you think you've got them all figured out, they always surprise you with something completely different. Their first two albums could be considered, in my opinion, as the missing link between Biffy Clyro, Oceansize and Placebo. "Seclusion" adds another dimension to their music: walls of sounds that hit you like a brick, easily comparable to what Isis has been doing lately. The result is a wonderfully eclectic EP, from the noisy popiness of "Inkwell" and "Lighning Strikes The Postman" (amazing Flaming Lips cover), the haunting beauty of "Dreams and Bridges" and "The Unravelling", or the uber-gorgeous "I Don't Need Your Love".
Even more than "A Story In White" or "Sleep And Release", Aereogramme's "Seclusion" leaves you so impressed that you'll wonder how you could go on for so long without knowing about this band. amazon.com

"In The Fishtank" is an ongoing project of Konkurrent, an independent music distributor in the Netherlands. Chosen musicians are given two days studio time and freedom to do whatever they like musically. On this edition, while both bands are known for their love of metal and post-hardcore with an experimental and spherical approach, they not only show these skills here, but they also add an impressively high level of purity, roominess, and emotion. It's the analog warmth that makes the songs tender, organic, imminent, and fragile.amazon.com
