After being out of print for 30 years, Catharsis has been remastered and faithfully on a 2xLP set from Equal Vision Records. With the re-release, Catharsis will now include the “Idiots” cover 7″ songs and 2 songs from the Sunspring split 7″. The release comes with a new gatefold jacket and insert featuring the iconic front cover, back cover, and many never-before-seen photos scanned from the original negatives. Ryan Patterson recreated the artwork, and was luckily able to re-scan the original negatives from Chris Higdon. Includes new liner notes and scans of some of the more interesting show flyers of the period. Side B on the second LP (shown above) contains an etching of the “Idiots” cover art, with the band drenched in ‘blood’ ala Samhain. Equal Vision has the pre-orders up now, and you should get on it as soon as possible – the first run is 100 of each vinyl color.
