Description:The band was founded in 1977 Compact in Cluj-Napoca, with members on: Marius 'Bubu' Luke - guitar, vocals; Cornel Moldovan - guitar, vocals; Ladislau Balasz - drums; Constantin Camarasan - guitar, Teo Peter - bass. University Club begins on stage. In December 1977, taking part in Galas 'week' in Bucharest, where the song launches 'space', signed by Cornel Moldovan.

In 1979, Luke, Moldovan and Balasz left the band, being replaced by Radu Marpozan - drums, Guzu Pap - guitar, Nelu Jecan - voice and Marian Corjan - vocals. In 1980 won the Grand Prix Festival 'Perpetuum Transilvaniae Vox', and the following year joined Paul Ciuc. In 1982 obtained the Grand Prix of Rock Festival in Costinesti.

Discography first appearance took place in 1982, half an LP in the "rock band" (disc No. 6) of Electrecord. Between 1982 and 1986, the band spends the summer season concerts each evening at the restaurant 'Youth' in Costinesti, even bringing their 1982 Prize at Festival Rock 'Sea Festival'. It climbs from a strong supporting group of 100 to 400 concerts a year.

In 1985, the first LP signed the Compact, the dream girl (Paul Ciuci voice, guitar, Constantin Camarasan-guitar, Teo Peter, bass, drums Leluţ-Vasilescu, Mircea Octavian Kiraly-keyboards), and this year all group members participate Compact Rock Festival in Dresden. The album "dream girl" was a success, both because it is well designed and structured, but also because the song title will remain a big hit and more than 30 years. The disc contains both hard-rock songs (Lights in the sky, another day, Legend), rock'nroll (Path over time), blues-rock (another day) melodic rock (dream girl, you're everything to me) and two great ballads of sensitivity by Constantin Camarasan (and sung voice all of it). 1986 was the year in the former USSR and Bulgaria tours. In return, Vladimir Cnejevici - keyboards, formerly of the band Progressive TM, joins the band. The coming of Cnejevici not leave unnoticed, who would become one of the biggest Romania's boots making her presence felt in the sound of the band, so since then, nor can we conceive without intervention fantastic compact format of the flap.

Song album was released to friends in early 1988 (the sound is quite different from the previous album, because the flap-style tones 80s found and used the excellent "new purchase" Vladi Cnejevici). It is again an album that contains songs that were to be successful (For My Friends, A night and day Give me news, another first), all parts being by this time by Paul Ciuc.

Years '88 and '89 tour looming important in Russia, but Ciuci not receive an exit visa from the country, having filed papers to emigrate to the United States. With his permission, to appeal to Leo Iorga (who at that time was the lead singer of Cargo), which will remain in the band after the departure of Ciuc State until the spring of 1996.

However, there are disagreements in the group, supporting the idea that the leader Constantin Camarasan band should move back to headquarters in the city of origin, Cluj. The rest of the band is not in agreement considering that the exact time in this area is given in Bucharest.

This is so when the group split in two branches of the Compact its called Compact B (in Bucharest, having as leader Peter Teo) and Compact C (in Cluj-cost Camarasan).
