Vital Spirit is a Black Metal duo formed in 2020, in Vancouver, by Israel Langlais and Kyle Tavares. They are an excellent example of how modern black metal in the West can demonstrate authentic and folk-infused musical characteristics communicated through punishing riffs and sinister ambiences. They chose to label their sound as "Saccharine black metal of the West".
