Ævangelist

Ævangelist is a black/death metal that comes from Arlington Heights, Illinois and Portland, Oregon, United States. They are currently linked to “Debemur Morti Productions” label. They were formed back in 2010.

Formed mainly by Matron Thorn in Guitars/Vocals and Ascaris in Vocals/Saxophone. Both come from “Benighted In Sodom. Thorn also plays in Midwinter Storm and used to play in a lot of bands like Andacht, Cathaaria and Disenchanter among others. Ascaris plays in Shavasana.

Other band members are C. Hogan, who performs Vocals since 2011 and also plays in “Clad In Darkness” and “Spectral Voice”; “][“ who plays Bass and performs Vocals since 2013. He used to play in “Bergtagen” among other bands; “Sæn R.” is the current drummer, he played in “Belhor” and “Ritual Aesthetic”, he came as a replacement to “J. Nightside” who played drums until 2012; “The Auditor” who takes care of Effects, Ambience, Atmosphere and Noice since 2014; and finally Æryn, new Guitar player to the band.

The band discography is composed of two EPs and three full length albums. Their first EP is from 2011 and is called “Oracle Of Infinite Despair” and the second one is entitled “Nightmare Flesh Offering”. In between those EPs their first full length was released. Coming out on October 16th 2012 and named “De Masticatione Mortuorum In Tumulis” it was launched under “I, Voidhanger Records” label, and it contained 8 songs including 1 instrumental.

Trying to be a prolific band, they didn’t wait too much for their next albums, as “Omen Ex Simulacra” was released on November 29th, 2013 with yet another 8 songs, and this time no instrumentals. Following the same line, they release their third studio album on September 12th, 2014. Again 8 songs, and returning with an instrumental one, this remains to be the band’s last album to date.
