Superb debut that was sadly ignored and not sufficiently supported by Atlantic records back in the mid 80s. This is very Judas Priest like (ie. Godz of Thunder, Stellar Masters, Air Attack) though we are treated to a hint of the first Montrose album with the brilliant, anthemic lead track, "Rockin' With You". Heavier than most albums launched off of major labels in those days, Malice was another one of those supremely talented bands that couldn't catch a break when they needed it most. Now, 20 years since its' release, it sounds as vital & relevant as it did then and I would match it against the majority of today's new product without reservation. Killer Halford-like vocals grace this drastic plastic so if you are feeling adventurous and wish to "find" a truly great album from the not so distant past, check this out. Malice knew how to rock and I don't mean the cheesy over-commercialized glop that permeated most of the 80s either. This is leather & chains metal for sure and suitable for road killing with your Harley.

Malice was just another up and rising 80's heavy metal band with flair and some good talent. Crazy in the Night features some pretty good songs worthly of giving a listen. Malice is a blend of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Ratt, etc. Born in the nightclubs along Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood and LA, they are one of many, many metal bands that were pretty good but never made it big (i.e. Stormer). Malice was a somewhat flashy band with good on-stage presense and released this album along with a few others which didn't go far. If you can find a copy of Crazy in the Night or any other records which are out of print as of today including all Malice promotional albums given away at concerts, i'd suggest you hop on it pronto!
